FIRE, the industry-led Forum for Innovation and Research in European Earth Observation, had the ambition to become the bridge between users and Earth Observation (EO) services and data. Cutting through a variety of six market sectors – agriculture, wind energy, infrastructure, marine, raw materials and urban development – FIRE gathered different user communities to consult and establish a high-level roadmap which was presented during the FIRE Forum 2023. The roadmap discussed during this events series has been one of the major results of the FIRE project as it aims to guide the development, delivery and uptake of EO services in Europe.
User consultations of the FIRE project included two rounds of Focus Group discussions and three FIRE Forum events. Both FIRE Forum events in June 2021 and June 2022 were held alongside EXPANDEO, the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) Annual Conference, to bring to you the opportunity to be there #Where The Market Meets. These events have successfully achieved to bring together key representatives from user communities, Earth Observation service providers and institutional actors to discuss the “Now and Tomorrow” of Earth Observation in Europe.
